Given the rise of the Dockside meta, I've been less and less impressed with [[Blood Moon]] (and [[Magus of the Moon]] to a lesser extent). Most of my success with Blood Moon has been when I am able to drop it early on turn 1 or turn 2 when I am early in the play order. Shutting off fetchlands early game has been very effective, but it's when I draw it later that it becomes less effective. And while 3 mana isn't the most expensive card, it does sit on the higher end of the mana value spectrum. Moreover, many of the most played cards in the format require only 1 pip of colored mana, which can be easily solved by the variety of mana rocks we run that produce colored mana.
Furthermore, with the rise of the B.A.D. decks, I've seen a huge rise in how often [[Dockside Extortionist]] enters play. People are consistently tutoring for Dockside more than any other card in my experience. Dockside only requiring red mana is another problem with running Blood Moon as it doesn't affect their ability to cast Dockside at all, and after casting the goblin, your opponent has access to any color of mana.
So my question to you all is: Are Blood Moon and Magus of the Moon good enough anymore?
For reference, I play a Mardu Dargo/Tymna stax deck. I've found that Magus of the Moon is still helpful because it has a body that can attack for Tymna triggers, even if that body is more easily removed.
