The new Comp drop system is a cool idea that is horribly designed

The new system would make for a fantastic viewing experience if it didnā€™t have so many flaws:

  • POIs are incredibly unbalanced. Teams shouldnā€™t be ā€œrolling the diceā€ to determine the upper limit of how well they can perform.
  • From my understanding, they are only drafting the POI once for an entire set of games. So if you get a terrible POI, tough luck you are pretty much screwed for the entire set. Changing this to be a draft for each game is the only possible way to fix this.
  • Teams that get lucky in the draft in pro league are going to score higher, which will result in a better position for picking their POI in playoffs. Doesnā€™t this defeat the entire purpose of implementing the draft system in the first place (to create more parity among teams)?

In its current form, all the system does is create chaos.

It's short-sighted. Yeah, that situation will never happen again but it wasn't going to happen again anyway.

IMO this is going to lead to even more creativity and strategizing when it comes to match-point scenarios. How will other teams draft when the team on MP picks their spot?
