So I shot my first IDPA match today, I had a blast. Trying to get to a USPSA match on Saturday. I was talking to some guys and they said they are more fun and intense.
I need some recommendations, I shot my first match using my 9mm CZ 75 PCR (compact). I just used a leather OWB holster I use to carry and my uncle let me borrow a 45 double stack mag carrier. They fit loose, but I was going slow on my first try following the advice I read on here.
I want to run my gun in both IDPA and USPSA and possibly 3 gun if possible. Should I send my CZ out to Cajun gun works and get some nice sights and a trigger job? Or should I buy a new gun? Never opposed to having an excuse to buy a gun. If a new gun is the way to go, I like the Cz platform so any advice on a CZ or witness to buy would be great. $1000 or less.
I also need a holster setup, I liked the blade tech IDPA competition combo. Anything else I should look at?
I might be jumping the gun, but I think I'll be in for the long run. Thanks for any advice.
