Security+ is the most boring exam I’ve ever studied for

I’m currently going through the material in order to pass the security and I’m dreading every moment of it. It’s so boring and so dry that I’m completely turned off from continuing further down the cybersecurity career path. Has anyone else experienced this. I literally feel like I’m just memorizing terms in order to pass an exam. It feels more like a vocabulary exam than an actual IT certification.
