Network Patch Panels

Looking through past jobs and competitors previous jobs we see on site walks. It has occurred to me the AV world rarely if ever uses network patch panels. Just wanted to start a discussion on why we think that is. I know the old argument of added points of failure and signal loss. What other reasons are there?
