Universal video conferencing equipment

The conference center I'm currently at is interested in investing in a video conferencing equipment that we can rent and tie into out existing projectors and sound equipment. Ideally the equipment we invest in could be used to conference with offsite cisco polycom and skype equipment.
Any suggestions on equipment or to an online guide where I can educate myself would be great thanks.
