Writer Seeks Artist/Letterer for "FTL, Y'all" Anthology
Post Body

WHO I AM AND PREVIOUS WORK

I'm Luz, nice to meet you. I'm a fairly new writer with an 8-page comic under my belt which can be found here. I have also written several comic scripts which have not been illustrated as of yet. I'm also currently working on a pitch with an artist I met from this very subreddit, which is neat.

I'm looking for an artist/letterer to collaborate with for a pitch for the "FTL, Y'all" anthology, which you can read about here, but here are some important notes:

  • The comics will be in grayscale.
  • Successful submissions must be completed by April 30th, 2018.
  • 6.625" × 10.25" Dimensions
  • 50 USD page rate plus ten contributors copies per contributor, but there is the possibility of higher page rates if the Kickstarter campaign hits certain stretch goals.

THE PITCH

The idea isn't 100% fleshed out yet, but I'd like to do sci-fi with a horror angle, taking inspiration from sci-fi themed cults, and, to a lesser extent, Cowboy Bebop. You won't be expected to draw any gore (it's not allowed), but keep this in mind when evaluating whether your style fits the project. I do have a more detailed plot synopsis in mind, which I am happy to share over PM/email.

EXPECTATIONS AND ROLES FOR ARTIST/LETTERER

For the pitch itself, I don't expect much besides a good portfolio with sequential art and possibly some concept sketches. If we are accepted, you would draw an 12-page (estimate) comic in grayscale to be finished by April 30th, 2018.

COMPENSATION

I will pay you for any work you produce for the pitch itself. I am also open to having you be paid the full $50 page rate, depending on how much you contribute and what your regular page rates are. Keep in mind though that the possibility of being paid more as the Kickstarter hits stretch goals is real, I don't want you to depend on it but there's a good chance it might happen looking at the past Kickstarter campaigns Iron Circus has run.

Thank you for reading all this! If you're interested, please comment, PM, or email me at [email protected] !
