Comcast buried temporary cable

Post Body

I had Xfinity installed the other day and the tech ran a temporary drop from the pole since the house had not previously had service. The drop was around 235ft from the pole and he used RG6 instead of RG11. The tech told me that he should have used RG11 since the drop was over 150ft and he said they would replace the line when they came to bury it. He asked if I wanted to be home when they came to bury the line and I told him that I didn’t have to be home but wanted to be called so I could make sure the drop wasn’t buried down the middle of a gravel drive area I have on the side of my house. I then get the line bury drop notification in my account and it says that I didn’t request to be contacted. I call Comcast support and tell them that I want to be called before the line is buried.

Fast forward to today and I get home and the temporary line was buried and they buried it down the center of my gravel drive area where I now have to worry about it getting damaged. Plus it is RG6 and not RG11 and my modem is showing that it isn’t locked on channel 34 after a reboot yesterday and it was locked previously on all channels and channel 33 is showing 857 Uncorrectables. All other channels seem to be good though.

Is it possible to have Comcast come back out and bury a new RG11 line and should I be worried about RG6 at this distance considering I’m right around 250ft to the tap?
