Hello, I signed up for Xfinity internet about a year ago, I live in South Florida - Broward County. I got the 300mbps & unlimited data plan and was paying $75/month, which was great. That ended up going up to $80, and just last month it went up to $103. Apparently I had a $20 off promotion that ended after 12 months.
So currently I'm paying $90 for Extreme 300/mbps and $20 for xFi Advantage (security & unlimited data?) with a $10 discount for autopay. That's too much for me right now being furloughed from work due to covid. I talked to a rep today and the only other promotion they have is $100/month for 1000mbps. I can downgrade to 200/mbps for $80 or 100/mbps for $70.
As for my usage, I'm in a small studio apartment by myself, I only use WiFi on phone and tablet but not heavy usage.. clash of clans, facebook videos, email, etc.. I have my computer connected to my TV where I mostly only browse the web, youtube, occasional stream on Netflix/Prime/Disney , but I do torrent as well.. some months more than others but on average prob never more than 100-200GB/week(some weeks nothing). I could easily cut the downloading down if need be to get under the 1200gb data cap they have for their plans, and I'm thinking I would be fine at 100mbps speeds, but I'd like to know what you all think.
Also, I can't check my data usage anymore.. used to be able to on the app but it doesn't show up anymore, and even on the regular website when I click check data usage it doesn't do anything. The rep said he couldn't check it because I'm on an unlimited plan, which sounds like BS to me. I'm also not able to change my plan online because I live in an apartment complex that supplies cable, but not internet, so that messes up their system and it doesn't even load the page when I try.
