I recently had a hard drive crash and had to redownload a bunch of stuff that I had backed up and realized how absolutely freaking frustrating it is that the data page is only updated once per day.
With two people regularly streaming in my house on a 4K Netflix plan, we're very close to hitting our caps on a monthly basis. I find myself calculating as we get through the month to see how much I have to ration, what I can and can't do, and how much I have roughly, per day, to avoid going over our cap. It's like being back in the freaking AOL days again, where I had to measure my time online by minutes.
Obviously, I'd rather not have to deal with caps at all, but if Comcast are going to force them upon me because there isn't any competition in ISPs where I live, shouldn't they at least be transparent about my data usage?
I know it's technically possible to install my own bandwidth monitor on my owned router, but I regularly lose that data when I update.
No questions, really, just venting. Although if there's some hidden page in the Comcast system that updates bandwidth usage in realtime, I'd appreciate it.
