I know this question has been asked a lot, but I'm asking again in case there have been newer devices released or if there has been more evidence gathered to point to a better setup than before. (EDIT: My current device is the Arris TG862)
I currently have the 150mbps plan and I live in a two bedroom apartment. With the current gateway we have (the one comcast gave us when we set up our internet a couple years ago), we usually are getting around 30 to 50mbps via wifi, which is obviously much less than what we're paying for. I believe it has to do with the walls hindering the wifi connection, though I'm not 100% sure.
Our apartment complex has at least a couple hundred residents, so that's a lot of people using the internet at the same time. I mainly use the internet for work (where a fast internet connection is important), downloading and streaming movies, and playing my PS4.
Is it possible to get a setup under $200 that will allow us to get the full speed we're paying for? A gateway/all-in-one would be preferred, but if there isn't yet one that combines the best features of the modem and router, I'd be fine getting the items separate. Also, are the stock coax cables that comcast provides hindering my speed, and if so, which ones should I get? Thanks in advance!
I apologize for asking this question yet again. This is the first time I've visited this subreddit, but I imagine this has been asked a LOT, and can probably get very repetitive. I saw this question was asked 3 months ago, but my circumstances are a bit different (I'm willing to spend nearly double what the last person was).
