Does anyone have any insight into how I can break into a career with watercraft in Central Ohio? I’m 37 years old, and currently work in IT. I’m handy around the house, and work on my own vehicles, but I have no formal mechanic training. I’ve looked at career centers as options in central Ohio to gain experience, but I don’t know if that would help. Becoming a captain/firstmate/deckhand isn’t an option due to a lack of navigable waters here, so I’m assuming repair is the way to go. I’m willing to work my way up from sweeping the floors, if part-time is an option. I’m thinking it’s time I chase something I’m passionate about. Any insight is appreciated.
