Court rules against state mandate for 24-hour waiting period for abortion services

Post Body

Today, the Franklin County Common Pleas Court issued a preliminary injunction against a state law that mandates a 24-hour waiting period for patients seeking abortion services. The Court recognized that a person’s right to reproductive freedom is now enshrined in the Ohio Consitutiton, and rejected the Attorney General’s convoluted interpretation of the recently passed amendment. I applaud Judge Young for making clear that the state has no business interfering in the relationship between a woman and her doctor.
