For reference, I have never decorated for Christmas because it’s just been me and I never saw the point. But this year I have a pooch and I would like to put up a few decorations around the apartment and buy a Christmas tree so we can celebrate the holiday together and wrap presents to put it under the tree (most of the presents will be for him)!

I live in the Clintonville area and there is a place right off of north high, almost to 161 (near Aldi, I think) and they sell live Christmas trees. This seems the obvious choice as it’s about 1/2 mile from my home, but we walked by the other day and their prices seemed kind of steep. I say this NEVER having bought a Christmas tree before and not having any reference. It just seems crazy to me to buy a tree close to $100 when you are just going to throw it out next month. (Did I also mention that I am cheap!!?? lol)

So I guess my question for you all is where is the best/cheaper place to buy a tree (even if it’s outside of Columbus and I have to drive a hike to get there) and what TYPE of tree is best. Maybe that’s the better question… is there a type of tree to get that is “better” for dogs? Now I’m thinking pine needles… my dog is not one to eat anything unless it’s in his bowl, but now I’m thinking maybe this might be a bad idea for his paws? Any and all suggestions are appreciated!
