Smearing ink - any hacks on keeping printed ink where it’s supposed to be?

Post Body

I’ve encountered this in several coloring books where when I use my blending pencil, it picks up the printed ink from the image on the coloring page and the black ink smears in with whatever color I’m attempting to smooth out, darkening the area I’m working on. It’s really annoying, especially when I’m working with lighter colors. The only hack I’ve ever learned about keeping printed ink in place is newspapers being ironed to prevent the ink from blackening hands. I did try dry ironing a page under parchment paper but this didn’t seem to work. Is there any other method I could use, possibly a spray of some sort? Any ideas would be appreciated.
