So, I just found out I’ve got high blood pressure (it’s hereditary… runs in my mom’s family), and I’m more than certain that my somewhat sedentary lifestyle is probably a big factor in my inability to keep it in check. I was wondering where people would suggest going to workout at (reasonably priced, I don’t want to pay an arm and a leg in gym fees… pun possibly intended there). I prefer a smaller workout location to one of those massive overcrowded ultra gyms, but will entertain all options put before me.
Also, I would like to find people to possibly work out with (to keep me in check). I’ve never been a gym rat, and have shied away from doing so in adulthood (I had bad experiences in gym class growing up). As such, the last time I was pretty much in shape was in high school when I did marching band, but as a person in his 30’s I don’t really have that kind of activity available to me in this post-education stage in life. But I know if I hit a gym, I’m gonna need people to help me stay focused, so a workout buddy would be helpful, if I can find one.
Let me know your advice, ladies and gentlemen. I’d gladly appreciate whatever info I can get.
