Perfect day!

10am, few cars, few people. We stayed until a little after noon. On our way out there were a lot of cars coming in and the parking areas were filling fast, though.

Our mini-review:

First, big props to the cleanup crew walking the beach!! I doubt many see them but that was great to see. Just a few people, in the buff with garbage bags, moving down the beach picking up trash. Very cool and really happy to see them. I wish I could have bought them a drink!

I'd estimate that there were only about thirty people that we saw this entire time.

Lots of single men and all except one were respectful.. One was kind of creeper. This guy in his 60's walked by and slowed his pace way, way down, and made it known that he was oogling u/Super_Secret_Name. Not in that appreciative way but that "rapey eyes" way. When she moved to cover herself and let him know that it wasn't wanted, he got the picture and quickly moved on.

There were only a few textiles, which was nice considering all of the discussions here and elsewhere about them overtaking the beach. Only one of them seemed to be there for nefarious reasons.

Did I mention that there were a lot of single guys? Ha. Honestly, all of them except one were totally fine. They were there to just enjoy the sun and glorious weather, too!

Overall, I think for those that are worried about it being a textile infestation or full of creepy guys, you should look to go a little earlier in the day, if possible. If you can't, I respect the fight that you're fighting and hope that it does improve.

Last thought: Fucking Hell the mosquitos were bad. They didn't seem terrible but I think I have twenty bites - ninja mosquitoes! On the beach they weren't bad, just lots of box elders there, but that area between the parking lot and beach... Oof. Lot of nasty fucking mosquitos! I'm going to look like a tweaker with all of my arm and leg sores I'm a day.
