I’ve recently begun to deal with severe paranoia and it’s seriously affecting my academic performance. I constantly think people are watching me and following me to the point that it’s the only thing I can focus on. I sit in the back of lecture halls so there’s no one behind me watching me and even then I can’t focus. I really struggle to use technology because I think someone’s watching or tracking me through it. Going outside has become scary. And I can’t do anything about it. I’ve talked to my professors about it and they say I need a letter from disability accommodations but when I go to disability accommodations they say I need a letter of official diagnosis from a psychiatrist. I’ve called every psychiatrist I can and I ended up making an appointment… at the end of April. My semester ends in early May so there’s not much of a point to any of it. I won’t be able to get any help before the semester is over. What can disability accommodations even do for me? Has anyone been in a similar situation? Is there anything I can do?
