the one good thing about it that i can think is i did make eye contact with lots of people in the audience and i would pace while i was talking instead of standing in one place the entire time. oh i also made it within the time frame. the problem was my actual speech. i don’t know what went wrong, i started practicing it 4 days before i had to give it and nearly perfectly memorized it. my anxiety just truly took over and made me lose track of everything i had to stay. i had to keep looking at my notecard although just two hours before i was reciting it with 98% accuracy without needing to look at it. i was stuttering at different parts, and i completely forgot to say a few sentences which im so sad about. how can i improve my actual speaking skills in front of large crowds?!? my mouth and brain just completely failed me today and im so upset about it.
You’re being too tough on yourself! You nailed some big parts like eye contact and pacing. Maybe practice with distractions next time to simulate the nerves.
