Cold sore or… horrific dental lesion?

I wear a temporary bridge here, the top of the bridge sits just above this lesion type thing, never used to get cold sores here but I guess you don’t have to get an outbreak in the same exact spot every time… only thing that made me wonder was that this is like a slit in my gums, usually my outbreak is just a circular area.
