My vinyl arrived this evening and I've been listening through the album!

OH MY GOD that MOTS II track is the stuff of nightmares! That robotic voice (backwards or whatever) is super uncomfortable, the manufactured crowd noise is for who knows what exactly, not to mention it provides no transition from Biutyful to My Universe. It seems useless and disconcerting and weird and I just don't get its inclusion lol.

this is written all in good spirits, I generally enjoyed the album and I'm not upset about it or that track, it just really caught me off guard lol

Haven't formed too many strong opinions yet, but general thoughts on the rest so far:

old stuff

• MOTS I/Higher Power flows together great and it’s a pretty good song, already knew this though. really tragic the "boy is electric" Jonny guitar is not in the studio version 😭
• maybe it’s just from the familiarity of already having heard it, but I really enjoyed studio Human Heart!
• My Universe pretty good and catchy as already knew
• Coloratura great as already knew

new stuff

• Alien Choir is a pretty cool ambient interlude
• Humankind and Let Somebody Go generally positive impressions, believe they’ll continue to grow on me
• People of the Pride stood out the most on my first listen as an absolute banger
• Biutyful was ehh, hope it grows on me but I really dislike that autotune voice
• Infinity Sign was cool, thought I'd be disappointed in a 4 minute instrumental but I was not
