A few days ago I set out to make the best Coldplay playlist I could with what’s available on Spotify. I’m not sure why I put so much work into it, but what came out the other end was a five-part, three-hour journey through their entire discography (minus tracks from AHFOD, because it still feels too fresh to judge comparatively).
I’ve been listening to these guys since I first heard Yellow on some VH1 show before school in 2000, and have spent years and years pouring through their music, both officially and unofficially released (I really would have loved to fit Don Quixote in here somehow!). Because of this, you’ll see I have an affinity for some weird versions of songs, like the original Don’t Panic that was included with The Blue Room EP and a solid block of b-sides during Part 5.
Anyway, I’m droning on, so I present Boqeh’s Coldplay Masterlist! And the Spotify link!
It can be listened to in one fell swoop or via its five parts, and the full tracklist can be found here. Also included are five separate album covers for each part based off of the Charlie Brown “Fuzzy Man” video they used during the Mylo Tour.
I’m weirdly proud of this playlist, and I hope y’all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed putting it together.
ALSO: If any of you have your own “masterlist,” I’d love to hear it! Mine went through a bunch of iterations before I settled on this final list, and I know I’m missing a lot of songs people would generally include (or I included songs people generally dislike). There are a million versions of the masterlist that we could collectively put together.
TL;DR: I went crazy and made a three hour Coldplay playlist on Spotify, along with album art. Cool.
