In light of the recent controversy and denunciation made by Chairman Mao Tse Tung in Peking. General Secretary Khrushchev was outraged at the statesman’s remarks towards his political project understanding that depsite Mao’s reduced role within the Chinese Communist Party, his word is still widely regarded as law and the principles of the CPC. While the Sin0 Soviet split was interrupted after a brief thaw in relations in the aftermath of the U-2 Crisis with Soviet cooperation continuing unabated for a few years. The Chinese government has taken a path into the unknown with known reformist figures taking the spotlight and sidelining Chairman Mao. With reports of a successful nuclear test by the People’s Republic of China and Mao’s denunciation of reformists within his faction, threatening to tear the nation apart, The Soviet Union must act to ensure it’s line is clear. After Mao’s speech, Khrushchev wrote a counter speech in a statement to the Presidium both as a warning and clear opposition to Maoism as an ideology and targetted towards hardline sympathizers.

“Comrades and Friends! The Soviet Union and the People’s Republic of China are some of the strongest bulwarks of the Communist World, not only are we the strongest in terms of military and economic might, but our friendship is just as strong. Together we have struck triumph after triumph against the capitalists and fascists that besiege the Revolution. However, I fear that this fruitful relationship is now seeing it’s most important test.”

“As you might have heard from Peking, Chairman Mao Tse Tung have spoke out against right deviationism and counterrevolutionaries within his party. While we do not concern ourselves too much on the internal politics of the Communist Party of China, what should be concerning is the emergence of factionalism within the CPC, a schism which i fear, might tear apart our strongest ally and advance the objectives of the Maoists to control the nation.”

“Make no mistake comrades! Those who want to destroy the friendship between our two great nations and those who want to tear the Communist World apart for ideological orthodoxy or worse, shall not be tolerated and shall face our wrath! The Soviet Union will not tolerate factionalism and opportunism within our allies and shall maintain the unity of our peoples together, by any means necessary!”

“Thank You and defend the Revolution against the Fifth Column!”

The crowd in the Presidium drew a thunderous applause for the General Secretary’s powerful words, emerging out of their seats in approval, while some remained seated looking snidely at Khrushchev’s smiles.

Such a surprisingly aggressive statement by General Secretary Khrushchev saw a notable change in his demeanor, most likely encouraged by the lessons and suspicions over his own party. There are wolves amassing in the shadows, waiting for the opportune moment for his removal, in Gosplan, in the Ministry of Defense, in Agriculture, hell even in the Council fo Ministers. He has to tread lightly and stay vigilant against the hardliners for he has drawn a line in the sand.
