Setting: What passes for an American restaurant in Saigon. An expensive, imported jukebox plays music several years out of date, while the menu promises "Hamburger" and "Moscow Mule" which may or may not be almost entirely unlike the versions familiar to Americans. The place is mostly empty, aside from three bored white men smoking cigarettes over a poker game, a number of scantily clad women whom are almost certainly prostitutes, and our characters.

Colby: You can call me Bill.

Vuong: Bill. So have the Americans heard my concerns?

Colby: That they have. We've decided that bold action is necessary.

Vuong: Of course it is.

Colby: Though I suspect it may not be precisely to your wishes; your country has need of your talents, which right now are being wasted by Diem. He has proven... unhelpful. Jesus Christ, the man's hiring Filipinos now. I've got no clue what the fuck he's up to.

Vuong: I wish I knew myself. But Bill, my men are ready to take action. They've had enough of sitting on their asses in Saigon.

Colby: Have you consulted Colonel Thi, though?

Vuong: He is on-board with the course of action you have proposed, yes. What of your Department of Defense, though?

Colby: I can assure you, those elements involved have nothing but rock-solid support for what is to take place.

Vuong: Have you secured the resources?

Colby: They should be made available once the paperwork processes.

Vuong: Excellent. My men will be ready for the mission as soon as you give the word.

Colby: We'll have to see how the situation develops on the ground. You aren't the only player in this, of course. I'm sure an opportune moment will arrive soon enough, though.

Vuong: When it arrives, my men will be ready.

Colby: Until then, though... there's someone I want you to meet. He's not here right now, of course, but I'll set something up... goes by the name of Ky. My people have had an eye on him for a bit now.

Vuong: Well, let me know when you can make arrangements. Anything else I should know? I'm certainly not here for the food. chuckles

Colby: Ah yes, we're expecting Diem to reorganize his units as part of the expansion of the armed forces. You'll probably get shuffled around.
