Mapai and the General Zionists enjoy a small surge of popularity, having established the State of Zion in a governing coalition together, overseen an influx of foreign capital into Palestine, but most importantly have enjoyed relative peace for now two full years. Mapai retains their hold on Zionite politics.
Herut remains a popular option for many of the long-time residents of Palestine. While the invasion of Lebanon was a foreign policy fiasco, ultimately the presence of the French in Lebanon have mostly calmed the nerves of both the military high command and the population of north Zion.
The National Religious Front has a strong showing, though they're still not important enough to come out of the opposition.
The success of Ahdut HaAvoda compared to Mapam and the PCP shakes Mapam and the PCP to their cores. Immediately following this election, both Mapam and the PCP suffer large splinters along Zionist lines in their respective factions. Though the PCP would continue to survive, Mapam would not be so lucky.
