Wheras the Empire of Japan and the Republic of China have been in a state of war dating back to at least 1937;

Wheras the Empire of Japan has had imperialist designs upon China since the Meiji Era;

Wheras the Empire of Japan has committed numerous crimes against the Republic of China, the Chinese people, and humanity generally;

The following peace treaty is established:

1. The complete and utter repudiation of all imperialist treaties.
2. The restoration of all indemnities paid by China to Japan in pursuit of her imperialist designs, adjusted for the devaluation of silver, to total $263,620,000. Half will be in hard currency or precious metals. The remainder will be in-kind compensation [M: principally machine tools, agricultural equipment, and spare parts--especially for jeeps and trucks]
3. The payment of further reparations in a manner mutually agreeable to the parties at a more appropriate time for damages inflicted during the course of the Second Sino-Japanese War.
4. The restoration of all trading rights between Japan and the Republic of China that would be enjoyed by any two free nations.
5. Japan will be allowed to purchase rice from the Republic of China Rice Export Board in yen.
6. A team of Japanese geologists is hereby invited to complete and follow up on explorations for mineral resources in China; particularly the lead, zinc and copper resources of Jiangxi.
7. Japan will be able to invest in Chinese businesses as any other foreign nation on friendly terms with China may, but cannot own Chinese land itself [though it may lease it].
8. The Republic of China will sponsor Japan's candidacy for UN membership.
