The Anglo-American Committee of Inquiry into the British Mandate of Palestine was the initial shift in policy that would radically change the Zionist situation in Eretz Yisrael. American pressure on the British after their policy of restricting immigration in the wake of the end of World War Two had been successful in easing the limitations. This, combined with British inaction regarding unmarked vessels leaving various ports throughout the Mediterranean, allowed many Holocaust survivors to enter into the Mandate in one way or another. The length of the British activity in Palestine in the wake of the post-war order and the UNSCOP's slow action to providing their proposal to the general assembly meant this went on for years at a time, especially once the UNSCOP proposal was accepted and the transition period began. Zionist control of government institutions grew rapidly as the British began to take flight from Palestine, and this would only embolden those who remained outside the land but wished to return to Eretz Yisrael. In total, nearly a hundred thousand Jews mostly from Europe in the wake of the Holocaust would make it into Palestine settling in newly-opened homes in places like Haifa, Jerusalem, and Tiberias. These immigrants would be provided food and assistance from the Jewish community throughout Palestine, and Zionist control of the government during the transitory period and the establishment of the Palestinian Constituent Assembly would strengthen that.

The complete withdrawal of the British and the official establishment of the State of Palestine lead to the host of invasions by the neighboring Arab states. This, combined with Egyptian naval activity around the State of Palestine, crippled any inclusion of further immigration during the war. The Jewish population in Palestine would actively decline as casualties grew and grew as the war escalated and increased in scale. Zionist leaders would cry out that the United Nations had stated unrestricted Jewish immigration into the State of Palestine was a cornerstone of the UN mandate given to Palestine, but this would fall on deaf ears. Eventually, however, the State of Palestine would find itself at peace with the conclusion of the final ceasefire on July 4th 1951 with Lebanon. The One Million Plan adopted by the government would continue onwards under now-Prime Minister Golda Meir as the Zionist government re-affirmed its dedication to the United Nations mandate as it could, including supporting Jewish immigration into Palestine. While some states, like Iraq, actively worked to stop Jewish immigration to Palestine hundreds of thousands would immigrate into Palestine mostly from other Arab states and Eastern Europe. With peace established and American money arriving, the Palestinian government made efforts to maintain the welfare the Palestinian Constituent Assembly and Golda Meir herself had worked hard to create. Nearly half a million Palestinian Arabs remained in the State of Palestine, attempting to maintain their lifestyle in the wake of the Arab states ending their assault. Meanwhile, the Jewish population of the State of Palestine would just about double to a total of one million six hundred and sixty two thousand. The major settlements of the Jewish immigrants outside of existing Jewish strongholds in Palestine would be in the Palestinian Western Hebron city and settlements on the Egyptian side of the armistice line south of Hebron and along the Dead Sea coastline. The government of the State of Palestine and its Zionist leaders would speak on the success of the UNSCOP and Palestine in making the region a Jewish state, that is a state with a Jewish majority demographic. Detractors would not be silent though, as the empty homes available to these immigrants were not empty very long ago.
