Following a meeting with representatives of the Arab League, Mohammed Natsir has secured their support in march towards independence, a great win for the Indonesian Republic! We have jointly agreed to the following terms:

Firstly, the recognition of the Republic of Indonesia by the members of the Arab League as the legitimate government of all the former territories of the Dutch East Indies, unless the Republic transfers sovereignty to a different state.

Secondly, the support of Arab League members in multilateral bodies such as the UN, via support for resolutions against Dutch aggression, calls for mediation, etc.

Thirdly, the temporary suspension, for the duration of the conflict in Indonesia, of docking rights in Arab League operated ports for ships carrying Dutch war materials or troops bound for Indonesia. This includes refuel and resupply.

We hope this will be the beginning of long and prosperous relations between all the people of the Muslim world.
