Summary:
The UN peacekeeping force has well outworn its welcome in the UAR or AIR or whatever they wish to call it. Attacks on peacekeepers have escalated significantly and casualties are beginning to mount as the UN is increasingly called to directly combat militia forces that are intent on driving them out of the region (and then, of course, attacking Israel). This is very upsetting for the UN peacekeeping contingents, whom want to simply maintain their particular rackets (literal rackets in several cases) and chill and get high. The fact that they are maintaining local rackets, and are even starting to proliferate guns, equipment, and Lebanese marijuana and opium to their home countries, is part of the reason why the locals are resenting them so much.
Several nations already are calling for their forces to return home, and further commitment to keep the UN in what is starting to slowly morph into an active warzone is being called into question, along with the purpose of UN peacekeeping in the first place--many suggest they are the cause of the conflict! It is clear, however, that the status quo will not be able to continue--the local population has made sure of that; and the possibility of continued supply is very much in question unless the UN wants to engage in a great deal of road-sweeping and is willing to limit itself to a handful of fortified posts.
