Frozen Foods Lebanon, confusingly abbreviated as the FFL Company, has been officially founded as a Lebanese-government owned and operated "organization" operating in the Soviet city of Autograd. Upon invitation by the Soviet government, Frozen Food Lebanon will operate a frozen foods factory in Autograd, capitalizing on the rapid increase in popularity of refrigerators and freezers in the Soviet market. An existing 30% of Soviet households owning refrigerators is expected to increase to 70% of households by the end of the decade, providing a potentially massive market for affordable, sustaining food.
Enter: frozen Lebanese cuisine. Lebanese cuisine is known worldwide for being delicious and healthy simultaneously due to its emphasis on natural ingredients and vegetables. Lebanon hopes to increase the Soviet market's exposure to Lebanese culture and Lebanese food, with Lebanese soft power already large in the Americas due to its huge Lebanese diaspora.
Its first products will be frozen sfiha and frozen kibbe, ready to microwave, bake, or steam depending on availability. These products combine the traditional grain and meat which make up the core of Russian cuisine, while introducing in new flavors, seasonings, and form factors. Fresh vegetables brought in from Soviet collective farms will also be included. Frozen ready-to-eat meals represent an easy way to bring variety and characteristic freshness onto the plate of the average Soviet worker practically and economically, combined with Lebanese culinary flair. With this product being the first exposure of many Soviets to ready-to-eat whole meal frozen foods, it will hopefully quickly become a staple in the diets of many Soviets.
