The Libyan Arab Socailist Ba’ath Party has reached out to their brothers in the UAR, keen to gain their support in the struggle against Western imperialism in the Middle East. Their leader, Amr Taher Deghayes, has stressed that the secession of Nasser’s Egypt and the government of King Idris acting as running dogs for the British imperialists has caused a surge in support for Ba’athism. As the people yearn for freedom, it has emerged as the clearest path to the realisation of a true United Arab Republic. To help achieve a Ba’athist revolution in Libya, Deghayes requests from the UAR:

• Education materials on Ba’athism for the masses

• A handful of cadre’s to travel to the UAR for instruction in governance and espionage

• $15,000 to facilitate aid programs for the new slums

This cooperation will greatly increase the standing of Ba’athist organisations within Libya, bolstering support for the inevitable revolution.
