Foreign Office of Prince Charles, Regent - May 10, 1948
An urgent message is dispatched to the Foreign Offices of the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
"We recommend to ignore French offer of late regarding a Pan-European Industrial Agreement. Already the Industrial Agreement between our three nations is in effect, and signing such a large agreement may not be beneficial to our interests. The French cannot be trusted in this regard. It must be noted that signing such an agreement with the French would endanger our ability to collaborate with UK/USA/SDU nations in direct future. Again, we recommend to ignore the offer. Please report reception of this message with all dispatch. We must stand united against the Communists."
