A letter that has been delivered by hand through multiple men has arrived on Nikos Zachariadis's doorstep in the hands of a mysterious man, who handed him the letter, addressing him simply as Comrade. The contents of the letter read thus:
Comrade Nikos Zachariadis
I trust all is well for you, despite the obvious tensions and strenuous situation that is present in Greece. Despite our lack of direct communication, I trust you have been aware of Bulgaria’s implicit support for your cause. Our states share a border, and with our new government in place, the BKP has full control over the military. Furthermore, with the Soviet forces still remaining in our country, we have the ability to send resources and partisans for your cause. Thus, I ask what Bulgaria can do for you. Our forces are not immensely strong, but our partisans could be of great use to you, or perhaps weapons, or even supplies. Simply ask, and you shall receive. Within reason, of course, Comrade. Should you want to meet to hash out some sort of agreement for humanitarian aid, as what the Yugoslavs have done, I would be more than willing to host you in Sofia, or perhaps a subordinate should you be too busy. Whatever the case, know that Bulgaria and the Bulgars stand with you against the Monarcho-fascists.
Yours,
Chairman Georgi Dimitrov
