The following speech was made by Mao Zedong following the evens in Northeast China. It has been distributed as widely as possible including to American journalists visiting the Communist Party in Yanan. It is being read in all CCP controlled villages and used to help mobilize the peasants for what is to come next.

Speech on Kuomintang Aggression in Northeast China

The people of China have suffered long and hard. In recognition of this the Communist Party of China agreed to terms for peace with the Kuomintang and had made plans for Democratic elections. However, the Kuomintang immediately broke the agreement. While disappointing, this behavior is not unexpected from Chang Kai-Shek, a man who will stop at nothing to rule China as a dictator. It is unfortunate that Chiang Kai-Shek is so insistent on fomenting civil war.

Despite an agreement for a ceasefire in place Kuomintang forces launched an all out assault in Manchuria. In gross violation of the agreement at Chongqing the Kuomintang have moved over 400,000 troops into Manchuria. What more, the forces of the warmonger Chiang Kai-Shek launched all out attacks on our positions in Changchun and Siping. While the bandits hold Changchun for now, our forces defeated the traitorous Kuomintang at Siping. And when they attack again they will be defeated again! Siping will be a new Madrid. Our forces will bravely fight to the last man.

14 years ago the Japanese entered Manchuria and stripped the people of their land. Now the Kuomintang has come to do the same. The Communist Party of China honors the memory of Sun Yat-Sen. Across China we have returned the land to the tiller. The Kuomintang insist on depriving the people of Northeast China of their own land in favor of their veterans.

This is a solution no one wants. Our heroes who fought valiantly against the Japanese deserve land in their home, but the Kuomintang are in the pocket of the landlords, so instead they force them to steal land from the people of Northeast China. Unlike the Kuomintang, the Communist Party of China will fight to return the land of Northeast China to its people. And then we will fight south so that the NRA veterans who fought against the Japanese need not steal land from their countrymen, but rather take the land that was always theirs. They need not move their families thousands of kilometers north to a harsh and unusual place. The Communist Party of China will fight so that all the people of China may farm their own land in their own home.

We will not bend to the tyranny of the traitor Chiang Kai-Shek. We will oppose the Kuomintang wherever they may be. We will free China from the grip of Chiang Kai-Shek and his gang of landlords!
