The DEV-GENC will be organizing little day trips for high school and university students to visit interesting sites in Turkey and neighboring countries which are significant in the international leftist movement, be they as close as the many squares and streets of protests, or be they as far as an old meeting site, or a boat trip into the Black sea. Whenever possible, interesting guests will be provided in order to provide insight or lectures and anecdotes.
"Now, in 28th of January this year, it had been fifty years, half a century, since Mustafa Suphi, the well known founder of the Communist Party of Turkey, was assassinated, along with his wife and several other comrades, by the Kemalists, as they traveled to Georgia. Now, before that, comrade Suphi had quite an interesting story to his name..."
Recep looked over the side of the boat. Out over the water. God damn, he didn't want to be here. It was interesting and all, but he had been dragged here by his commie friends and, to be honest, he wasn't really into it. But, he supposed, looking out across the water, he might see some interesting places if he stuck along for a while.
Like, Germany, he always heard Germany was nice. Lots of cool buildings and cities, good food and beer. Weird fascists, but he guessed he didn't really have to leave Turkey to find those. Well, that settled it, he supposed; he'd sign up for whatever Germany trip there'd be.
Not for the commie stuff, though. Gross.
