On Mayday, as usual, the TIIKP is holding a large demonstration in all cities where it has a large presence. There will be memorial services at Beyazit Square, to remember those who died on Bloody Saturday, 1969-- this time guarded by smartly armed paramilitants, if the wolves want to get into it again-- and, again, beginning recruitment drives. Following May 1st, across the cities of Turkey the TIIKP and it's various affiliated orgs (The DISK, the DEV-GENC) and fronts (Partizan Medya, Turkish Red Aid, etc) will be distributing propaganda leaflets, holding some little after work meetings discussing and explaining Marxist works, as well as beginning to open up even more new programs (m: which I'm about to write some posts about I swear).
In the rural regions, efforts to sway people using the promise of land reform to the poor peasants and shepherds will be made, as well as offering some extra manpower for whatever projects they're working on from local cadres in the region. Hopefully, given how long we've been building relationships with the local communities, people are starting to open up to the cadres by now, even if it's not suddenly magically becoming communists-- not that we're going to stop agitating for it.
Meanwhile, in the TIIKP, an internal line struggle between a faction of largely Maoists lead by Ibrahim Kaypakkaya, and the Shafak clique, who are lead by Dogu Perincek, the General Secretary of the party. Where this is going, nobody can say, but it probably isn't pretty.
