November, 1970

The DISK, ATIK, Antifascist Red Front, and TIIKP have begun to go about recruiting and organizing dockworkers this month, particularly in the Istanbul docks, partially in preparation for, uh, any Future Events which may or may not involve the US Navy, but also in general, it's good to be allied with dockworkers and sailors. They're a powerful force of labor and, well, if you can't import/export during a strike, that's definitely moving "dealing with the strike" to the top of your to-do list.

Excerpted from an article published in Partizan, and other left-wing papers and magazines, translated into German, English, etc. for use by ATIK.

...And thus it is shown that, of the places where one can take hold of great worker power, there are few so potent as the dockyards and ships of the world! They are an inlet and outlet for imperialism, yes, but that is precisely why it is so powerful to crush them by force of strike! The very inlet where your blood, stolen by capitalism, flows out of the country, can be turned into an open vein on the wrist, not for you, but for the capitalist who exploits you! Smash the chains, slash the vines, and hold tight the tourniquet around the rich man's neck!....
