Iran was forcefully made to be involved in the recent World War as the Allies needed a pathway to funnel resources to the Soviets and the Germans continued to push deeper into the Soviet Union. It's Pahlavi dynasty has ruled for decades at this point, and has maintained a powerful grip on the country. Furthermore, it's growing oil industry and refining market has allowed the country to grow richer, but it continues to struggle with separatist groups in the north and northwest that have open and tacit support from the Soviet Union. This struggle along with the political instability of the country is at the forefront of it's national conscious, and has yet to be seen in its effects on the Iranian people.
