Sanzo Nosaka rubbed his tired eyes, glancing at his wristwatch revealing that it was quickly approaching 3 A.M. and with a grunt Nosaka decided to simply forgo sleep, instead focusing on the reports in front of him. It was dangerous enough to even gain these reports from the few higher up members of the JCP that hadn't been charged with crimes by the Yoshida government and the SCAP. Nosaka had been on the run for the past months, attempting to keep one step ahead of the authorities that were attempting to apprehend him, even now he was hiding out in a small coastal town, being taken in by a local fishermen's union member.

However, Nosaka knew that he couldn't continue this forever, eventually he would slip up, or one of his comrades may fall to pressure and turn him in. He needed to escape. However, his options were limited, he couldn't flee to the Korean Peninsula, with the war raging on without control he wouldn't last for long. He could attempt to flee to the Soviet Union, but he was sure that American ships were patrolling the seas between Japan and the USSR heavily. Besides, Nosaka had spoken with Stalin on numerous occasions, and he was not confidant Stalin would be too happy with Nosaka's failing in causing a revolution in Japan. That left only one other option, his old teacher, Mao Zedong. Thus, Nosaka was resolved, he would go out with his host in the morning, and hopefully be able to flee to the Chinese mainland without being caught by the American ships.
