Iran National has been founded in Tehran by the Khayami family. It will be a public joint stock company with the objective of the creation and management of factories to manufacture various types of vehicles and parts as well as selling and exporting them. The board of the company immediately entered into negotiations with the government and emerged several days later, having succeeded in receiving an industrial subsidy grant for 2 years, as well as a marketing cooperation agreement, by which the Ministry of Commerce will lend analysts and funds to Iran National. The Minister of Industry Ali Shayegan has stated that establishing an auto industry in Iran is a crucial part in the industrialization process.

While the state has been continuously building railways across Iran, the network remains unfinished in terms of connecting all key commercial points. The Ministry of Transportation has released a plan to finalize the network over the next few years, connecting the country-wide lines to the smaller production center lines currently finishing construction.

The following lines will be finished to interconnect the country by 1970:

• (1968) Shiraz - Asaluyeh (355km)
• (1968) Shiraz - Bandar Bushehr (294km)
• (1969) Bafq - Kashmar (800km)
• (1970) Isfahan - Shiraz (506km)
• (1970) Zanjan - Hamadan (306km)
• (1970) Hamadan - Arak (191km)

The railway and road networks connecting production center areas to pre-existing networks have been finished.
