With the forces of several Kuomintang-aligned warlords advancing north from Mukden in Manchuria, our forces in their way are falling back. Yet they are in danger of encirclement, something we cannot allow. As such we are more than willing to give up land to the Kuomintang in order to ensure our people are safe. They will retreat from KMT armies at a faster pace, and leave the pocket to move back into safely communist lands.

Yet that is only one operation, something even larger is now happening in the south of Manchuria. Two months ago, Chairman Mao Zedong positioned over 200,000 men near the coast of Manchuria, to quickly strike at Kuomintang possessions in the region when hostilities began again. They have, and now it is time for us to execute this plan. These 244,000 men, of which 198,000 are trained Armed Militias, with 46,000 People's Liberation Army personnel (who are in possession of far equipment of a far higher quality), armed with rifles, bullets, and trucks made from seized Japanese industry, and from captured Japanese equipment from the Soviet Invasion of Manchuria last year, will begin the offensive in the South. We are confident of victory not only because our cause is just, as we actually wish to improve the lives of the millions of impoverished Chinese, but because the majority of Kuomintang soldiers are in the north, trying to recklessly advance further and further into Manchuria.

The initial push will be made by the forces of the People's Liberation Army, who are very well trained in non-conventional tactics and equipped with our best weaponry (including some support artillery, which gives our infantry divisions great firepower), who will be supported by a great mass of People's Armed Militia personnel. Our tactics are different, we do not listen to normal military advice, for that is useless here in China. We work by constantly harassing the Kuomintang, reducing their morale with the uncertainty of when the Communists will come, and, since the vast majority of Kuomintang forces are drafted peasants who do not actually believe in the Nanjing government, accepting deserters and capturing prisoners to absorb into our own armies.

Map The light green is the area recently occupied by the Kuomintang offensive, dark green is land planned to be taken by this Communist offensive, and the red are areas where our armies are massing.

TL;DR - Our men are retreating in the north to ensure they don't get encircled, while in the south they are fighting to rush in and take the southern coast of Manchuria before the KMT has time to react.

((These tactics were used IRL to great effect, so I hope they do give an advantage, plus the Kuomintang armies had next to no morale even when they were winning, because most soldiers were literally kidnapped at night from their homes to be forced to fight for the KMT. I'm not making this up, there's a reason the CPC got rid of "reeducation camps" late in the war, the KMT prisoners were so willing to join the CPC that they didn't even need more than one "class"!))
