Vice-President Abdullahi sat in his office, his cabinet around him, sipping tea as they discussed the matters of governing the colony. Specifically, their last few gatherings had drifted toward the matter of this new government in Ethiopia.

"We must take action!" a voice called out, emphasizing his point by slamming his hand on the table. This man was Muhammed, a member of the ulama who had frequently brought up the matter of the Socialist government in Ethiopia. "Those men who have turned away from the Almighty, they can not be trusted to uphold agreements made. It is clear that at the first sign of weakness they will turn on us like vultures!"

"Now now" Cawil, a more level headed member of the cabinet said "They have done nothing to warrant such a reaction Muhammed, look at their friendship with the Eritreans!" The rest of the cabinet muttered their agreement, before one spoke above the rest.

"Yes, a friendship started by an Ethiopian request for the Eritreans to be put under Ethiopian control." Guntaal spoke, crossing his arms over his chest. And thus, like a switch being flipped the arguments began all over again.

With a harsh sigh Abdullahi began to massage his temples, while the discussion did have merit, they truly did need to move onto other matters, such as the bill to improve the infrastructure in the Protectorate. "Enough" he called out, silencing the argument. "I shall take all of your words into consideration, and later set up a secure line with Prime Minister Eden. For now, let us move onto this next bill."

That Evening

With a sigh Abdullahi picked up the phone, tapping his fingers as the ringing was heard. Upon being connected to Prime Minister Eden he says "Greetings Prime Minister, I apologize for contacting you without greater warning, but I believe that this matter should be addressed as soon as possible. Currently, there is some unease caused by the violent upheaval of the Ethiopian government, as I am sure there is in the United Kingdom as well, due to the close ties that former Emperor Selassie had with the British people. As such, I would like to propose two matters for your approval, firstly an expansion of the Somaliland Scouts, to help ease the worries of the people of the Somaliland Protectorate in the event that the new Ethiopian government does indeed hold dark intentions for the Protectorate. And secondly, a joint Somali-British diplomatic envoy to be sent to Ethiopia, to help develop closer ties with the Ethiopian government. I submit both of these matters for your approval, though I am also open to more discussion concerning them."
