Upon hearing the result of the UNSC vote, the manifestations of joy of the Jewish community were counterbalanced by protests by Arabs throughout the country. A wind of violence has taken hold of the country. Murders, reprisals, and counter-reprisals have come fast whilst the Arab Higher Committee has ordered a general strike.

One of the first casualties of this violence have been 11 Jewish passengers on 2 buses who were ambushed on the Coastal Plain near Kfar Sirkin. Arab snipers have been scattered across the countryside and into the outskirts of towns. Riots and protests are now daily whilst fear has enveloped families across the nation.

With British presence in the mandate quickly diminishing, the states of Egypt and Jordan as well as the pro Arab movements within the mandate, such as the Army of the Holy War and the Arab Liberation Army, have been organising and mobilising quickly with arms following freely into Palestinian hands.

It seems unlikely that the plan will be implemented successfully on February 1st.
