Pursuant to the degenerating military situation on the mainland of China and the increasingly certain victory of communist forces thereon, the Department of Defense and the Secretary of the Navy have drawn up Operation WHITE SUN. The details to follow.

Transport elements, US 7th Fleet

The five reactivated Fletcher-class destroyers and 75 LSTs will depart the United States for Naval Base Okinawa at the earliest convenience. Upon arrival the five destroyers will be transferred to the Republic of China Navy, where they will serve as escorts for the transport elements of Operation White Sun. Combined with transport elements of the ROCN, the Operation White Sun transport section will work 24 hours per day with rotating crews and standby engineering staff in Taipei and Kaohsiung to keep the ships operational. The primary routes will transport NRA forces from Fujian and Guangdong (or their historical counterparts) to Taiwan and from Guangxi to Hainan.

7th Marine Regiment forces will deploy to mainland China to assist in the evacuation of American nationals in advance of the oncoming communist Chinese armies (as historical).

Operation WHITE SUN is to continue until the danger of continuation is prohibitive, no ports remain for use, or otherwise it is called off by the Department of Defense.
