Hi all,
I'm getting into the home roasting hobby to experiment with roast and grind levels. So far I've started with a 3 lb bag of Primos Caturra green beans and had so much fun experimenting different roast levels.
Roasted both in an air popper and oven and found that the oven is less work however very uneven roast levels. But that's besides the point.
I've also tried the ground Cameron's organic Peruvian coffee and found it surprisingly tasty from a large retail brand. I always was under the impression recently roasted is always best but they proved me wrong. I enjoy drinking coffee black to enjoy the flavors and drink anywhere from light to medium dark. Prefer medium, but haven't nailed the roast color levels yet lol.
Lastly, I've tried the Gevalia medium roast Colombian coffee and it's verrrry smooth on the palette and would purchase again.
I don't know if it's the region of Latin America I like or not but I feel that the single origin coffees from here are really tasty. Again there are a whole host of factors involved, when trying to find good coffee. I've had bad experiences trying coffee from Southeast Asia, India and parts of Africa, maybe because they were dark roasted from the bulk section in HEB and I used a moka pot. But my question for y'all is what regions are the best to get single origin coffee from that don't taste bitter or too acidic?
