If I use say 15g grinds, at a 1:13 ratio, that's 195g water. When I do this the AP is 95% full so if I wanted more grinds it will overflow. This seems extremely limiting. Am I missing something? A more standard 1:17 ratio would be out of the question. 15g isn't what I'd call a lot of coffee.
This is a new thing for me because I usually just grind up 2 scoops of beans (which is usually around 27ish grams) and fill my AP up 80% and call it good.
Now I'm trying to be more consistent and using some methods I read about here. Tried a longer brew time after reading that immersion allows it.
My cup yesterday was decent but much more like drip than the intense "espresso lite" that I go for. Lately I feel like my cups are under extracted with a more sour profile than I like so I found out that since I don't use that much water it's likely under extracting?
I'm kind of lost. Am I just finding the limitations of the AP with what I want?
To be fair I've had a lot of really awesome cups with my AP but it's more dependent on the bean than anything it seems.
