What is that awesome smell emitting WHILE grinding my beans?

A phenomenon I noticed recently is that when I grind my beans (hand grinder / light roast from Colombia btw) I smell an fantastic odor.. hard to describe, it's kinda light and sweet, almost buttery (if that word exists). But when I smell the grinded coffee it smells complete different. Not bad, like coffee smells, but that other smell is so different and so good that I wish my coffee tasted like this.
Odors are hard to describe in text, I hope someone understands me :)
