If I only have a blade grinder, should I just get pre-ground coffee?

Let's say I'm using an aeropress and have a little spice grinder that can grind coffee, even if we all know it's no burr grinder. Am I better off just asking the coffee shop to grind my beans for me? And if so, how should I instruct them on the right size grind for the aeropress?
