So I’ve been having issues with espresso being drawn too quickly on my Barista Express. The machine worked great for about a year, but now for the last 2 weeks or so every shot I pull comes out too fast. I’m grinding as fine as the machine allows, overpacking the portafilter, tamping hard. Nothing. Every shot comes out in less than 10 seconds. So I figured it must be something with the grinder. I took it apart to clean it all out, and there was a small felt washer that basically disintegrated when I removed it. I’ve tried to Google it to see how important it is, but I’m not coming up with much. Does anyone know how vital that piece was? Should I not use the machine again until I get a replacement, or would it be ok to use it for a few days while I wait for a new one to arrive?
