Help with a new Crossland Coffee and Vario?
Post Body

Long time coffee drinker, but just dipped my toe into the espresso world with a new Christmas gift of a Vario and CC espresso maker. So the inevitable dumb questions: 1) I still really enjoy a pour-over or Aeropress, and while I may eventually switch over to just espresso, I got the grinder with the idea that I could switch back and forth. However, reading around a bit, I see that that is a bad idea. Is this a real problem? I doubt I can talk my wife into donating yet more counter space to coffee by getting another dedicated grinder. The vario says nothing about switching back and forth, other than to make sure it is running when doing any macro adjustments. What does everyone think about this? 2) Beginning tips on making espresso? I have a few metal filters(?) that attach--one with no holes, one with a smaller hole section, and one where the entire bottom is perforated. What are all these for? 3) There is a two cup and one cup option, yet liquid comes out of both spouts. I'm confused. Which do I use? 4) I'm seeing mixed messages on how long to let it preheat. It shows 200 after just a few minutes. How do I know when it's long enough?
